Owen Guss

About me

My name is Owen Guss. I am a sophmore at Brea Olinda High School. A major part of my life is music, whether it is creating, playing, or listening. My favorite drink is coffee, so all day everyday, I am caffinated. One of my favorite activities is surfing, and being at the beach in general. Goodwill is my favorite store, because I also am obsessed with clothes and thrifting.

Academics

This year, I am taking 4 AP classes. AP Computer Science Principals, which is teaching me to build amazing websites like this, AP Seminar, AP European History, and AP Pre-Calculus. My goal for this year is to complete both semseters with a 4.8 weighted GPA. I am planning to go to a four year college after highschool, and my hope is to go to UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara, or UC San Diego.

Extra-Cirriculars

I really like to try new things, so throughout my short time in highschool, I have tried a lot of activites. These include Marching Band, Robotics Club, Show Choir, Thrifting Club, GITA, and I am currently considering joining the Swim Team.

GITA

I am apart of the Globat IT Academy (GITA) at Brea Olinda High School. This program is a 4-year long program that teaches you how to code and build computer programs. This year, we are learning HTML and JavaScript. This allows us to create websites, and build programs inside of the website. I absolutely love GITA, not only for the skill that it gives me, but because it is a safe and collaborative learning enviroment that has an awesome teacher, Mr. Salesky.
